Welcome to the Run Larapinta Stage Race

UPDATE 23-8-21: Rapid Ascent can now confirm the two Run Larapinta event dates for 2022*. Entries to open in October (date TBC).

  • The ‘Rescheduled 2021 Event’ will be held on 22 to 25 April, 2022. This event will be based out of Alice Springs and follow the same courses as planned for the August 2021 race.
  • The ‘2022 Event’ will be held on 12 to 15 August 2022. This event will incorporate a stay at the Glen Helen Outback Lodge for day 3 and 4 of the event. The course will differ from the event scheduled for April 2022 but is the same as raced in 2015 – 2019.

*The Run Larapinta Stage Race will not proceed in August 2021 due to the ongoing COVID restrictions around Australia and the changes to the NT border entry requirements that came into effect recently. Those competitors were emailed early August. We are still feeling devastated to make this change as we know many of you have put your heart and soul into this race – as have we. BUT the good news – there are now TWO Run Larapinta events in 2022. See ebove.

“Run Larapinta was an amazing way to see a beautiful part of Outback Australia. The trail is tough, but the beauty of the area, its vastness and majesty made every step worthwhile. I feel privileged to have seen a special part of our country and met some lovely people along way.” Karen, 2019 participant.
